Happy Saturday! Just a quick note today to let everyone know we’ve received a nomination for the Best Picture Student Short award at Bare Bones!

Over here at ‘Found’, we got some big news for ya… or should I say some Big Island news (see what I did there?) That’s right folks, ‘Found’ is an Official Selection of the Big Island Film Festival!!!! Yup, ‘Found’ is packing its bags and going to Hawaii!

I received a lovely call from the Festival with the invitation; everyone seems unbelievably nice, extremely welcoming. I have a sneaking suspicion this will be an amazing experience!

Fest runs May 24-28 on the Kohala Coast of the big island of Hawaii. The screening schedule has already been announced, and we screen:

Ever wonder if Merle Haggard’s claim that “white lightnin’s still the biggest thrill of all” in Muskogee, OK is true? Looks like I’ll get a firsthand view… just heard that ‘Found’ is an Official Selection of the Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival!!!

Fest runs April 13-22, but the exact date and time for our screening hasn’t been posted yet. I’ll be sure to let you know when I hear!

More good news! ‘Found’ has been accepted to the 10th Annual Garden State Film Festival!!! Fest takes place in Asbury Park, NJ March 22-25, and ‘Found’ screens at the “Synaxis at the Shore” at 4:00pm on Sunday, March 25… the day before my birthday!

This is the film’s 5th Official Selection, so a bit of a milestone. If you happen to be in the area, I hope you can make it to the Fest. Come celebrate with me and share in the excitement of the screening… and buy me a birthday drink afterward!

Last night ‘Found’ received the Award of Merit from the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood!!! Congrats to all the cast and crew!

The screening itself went very well. The programming selection was a bit curious, as ‘Found’ was the eighth and final film in its block, and the seven shorts that preceded it all dealt with death and/or revenge in some way. Needless to say, the mood in the theatre was very somber as ‘Found’ faded in, but I think most of the audience was caught up with the correct tone by halfway through the film, and I still managed to garner tears from several of the audience members by the end. Good to see the film still had the same emotional resonance, even with the rough start!

The first big news of 2012 is here! ‘Found’ is an Official Selection of the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood!

It screens THIS WEDNESDAY, January 18 at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, CA. Address is: 13500 Ventura Blvd., 91423. We’re in Shorts Block #1, which begins at 5:45pm.

Just want to wish everyone a very merry holiday season. Whatever holiday you happen to celebrate, I hope you may spend it with loved ones. I’m at home in Cincinnati, visiting family and friends, enjoying my time.

You’ll be hearing from me again on the other side of the new year, hopefully with some good news for ‘Found’. Until then, the entire ‘Found’ family wishes you and yours all the best.

It’s been a little while since my last post, but I wanted to make sure you know I haven’t forgotten my loyal readers.

At this point, put simply, not much is happening. I continue submitting to more and more festivals, but it often takes months to hear back. Right now I’m in a bit of a lull regarding festival selections. I’ll probably hear back from about three or four fests before the end of this calendar year, and then SEVERAL more the first couple months of 2012. Fingers crossed!

In the meantime, I’ve begun my next project! Another short. It’s just in the outlining phase so far, but I plan to put pen to paper (digitally speaking) very soon. Are you as excited as I am? I just can’t wait to get back in the director’s chair.
